Singer Jungwon of boy band Enhypen has been appointed the honorary ambassador for this year's Seoul International Garden Show, the singer's namesake event, his agency Belift Lab said Friday.

Jungwon, whose name is a homonym of the Korean word for "garden, "jeongwon," will take part in various promotional events for the annual gardening and flowers event, including advertisements, videos and voice guides for visitors.

This year's garden show will take place from May 1 to Oct. 27 in the Seoul Forest area in eastern Seoul, and will be the event's largest scale yet. The gardening event has seen over 10 million guests as of last year since its first opening in 2015.

"We hope to express the charms and value of the Seoul International Garden Show with Jungwon, a member of a trendsetting boy band Enhypen," said Kim Young-hwan, head of the Seoul Metropolitan Government's urban gardening department.

Jungwon's band Enhypen is set to kick off its fourth world tour, "Blood Saga," with three concerts at southern Seoul's KSPO Dome from May 1 to 3. The band will perform 30 times across 21 cities around the world.
