(G)I-DLE's Shuhua seemingly addresses alleged dating rumors in new Instagram post
(G)I-DLE member Shuhua uploaded a post on Instagram, seemingly regarding the speculation around her alleged romance with Taiwanese actor Ko Kai.
“If all things were pure and light, maybe life would get better,” Shuhua said in Mandarin in an Instagram story on Wednesday. Although the post never directly addressed Ko, she used metaphoric expressions that netizens have interpreted as her reaction to the situation.
Suspicions of a romance between Shuhua and Ko arose when Ko left a smiling emoji with its eyes closed as a comment on Shuhua’s Instagram post that read “Hey~ I love you” on Tuesday.
Shuhua was also present at Ko’s birthday party held in Taiwan in June, furthering speculation of romance between the two online. Some netizens pushed back, pointing out that Shuhua’s Instagram post was a lyric from (G)I-DLE’s new song “Klaxon” that dropped on July 8.
Ko’s comment with the emoji has been deleted as of Thursday.
“Reputation is given from the outside,” Shuhua continued in the post. “But it is important that I am just a person. Remember your worth and remember that you are not a slave to everyone’s voices.
“We are but travelers in the path of life, we can’t take anything with us in the end,” the (G)I-DLE member said. “Life is limited. I am thankful for all the love and tenderness. Do not come with malice.”
Shuhua’s agency, Cube Entertainment, denied that Shuhua and Ko were in a relationship through local media outlets on Wednesday.
(G)I-DLE released its seventh EP “I SWAY” on July 8. The album sold over a million copies in its first week of release. The lead track, “Klaxon,” reached No. 11 on the Melon Top 100 singles chart.
