Girl group XG partners with Riot Games to release new single
Girl group XG has partnered with Riot Games to release their collaborative single, “Undefeated,” for the ongoing Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) in the Pacific region.
“Undefeated” will drop at midnight on Thursday (KST), according to the group’s agency, XGALX, on Monday.
"'Undefeated’ contains a challenge to ‘fearlessly seize victory at all times,'” according to XGALX’s press release. The song was made to show off XG’s confidence and reflect their unique music style. It was produced by Jakops, XGALX’s CEO and XG’s chief producer.
“We wanted to bring joy and touch everyone’s hearts for players and music lovers all over the world,” Jakops said.
“We hope [the players] will adopt an undefeated spirit when it comes to facing dreams, challenges and competition, just like XG,” he added.
"We're thrilled to collaborate with XG on the creation of ‘Undefeated’ for VCT Pacific," said Jake Sin, Head of Valorant Esports APAC at Riot Games. He added he hopes that the song will hype up excitement for the Pacific tournament and also “demonstrate [Riot Games’] commitment to the passionate community.”
The first stage of the VCT Pacific, which will determine which teams in the region will qualify for the Valorant Masters, kicked off on April 6. The Valorant Champions will be held in Seoul this year from Aug. 1 to 25, after which a VCT world champion will be crowned in the capital.
XG, which stands for Xtraordinary Girls, debuted in March 2022 with the single “Tippy Toes.” The girl group consists of Japanese members Jurin, Chisa, Hinata, Maya, Juria, Cocona and Amy Harvey.
The group will release its fifth single, “Woke Up,” on May 21.
