HYBE looks for members of its next boy band
HYBE is looking for the members of its next boy band to follow BTS and Tomorrow X Together, amid the turmoil that the company is facing with its subsidiary label ADOR.
BigHit Music, HYBE's subsidiary and home to BTS and Tomorrow X Together, began taking submissions for its auditions on Thursday in search of members for its next boy band. The agency has held global auditions for prospective trainees since 2018.
The online submissions opened Thursday and will run through Aug. 31 on BigHit Music's website. Walk-in auditions will start June 1 and run through Aug. 31 in 17 cities including Hawaii, Vancouver, Sydney, Oakland, Bangkok, Tokyo and Seoul.
The walk-in auditions will start at noon, with in-person sign-ups opening from 11 a.m. They do not require online preregistration, according to BigHit Music.
Any male born during or after the year 2006 can apply.
Specific dates and venues for the auditions can be found on BigHit Music’s website.
Pop-up events consisting of photo booths and games will open at select audition sites including at the venues in Orange County, California, Jakarta, Indonesia and Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi in Vietnam. Visitors who are not audition hopefuls can also participate in the events.
“A variety of events will be planned so that applicants can participate in the auditions casually without feeling stressed,” BigHit Music said. “We look forward to seeing many talented participants.”
