HyunA to break two-year hiatus with 'Attitude' in May
Singer HyunA will break her two-year hiatus with a new solo EP, “Attitude,” on May 2, her agency AT AREA said Thursday.
This is HyunA’s first EP made under hip-hop producer duo GroovyRoom and their agency, AT AREA, which she joined in November last year. The singer’s latest music release, her eighth EP “Nabillera,” dropped in July 2022 under the label P Nation.
GroovyRoom acted as chief producers for the EP, according to AT AREA’s press release. HyunA participated in writing the lyrics and composition, while GroovyRoom took charge of composition and song arrangement.
HyunA had released a two-minute performance video of a track with the same name as the EP in November along with her announcement of joining AT AREA. Her upcoming EP is titled “Attitude” to reflect the singer’s “candid and confident attitude” as she made a new start, the agency said.
“The album shows off Hyuna’s ever-changing sides as an artist,” AT AREA said. “It will showcase her growth as an artist including her elevated vocals.”
More information about the lead track and the number of songs on the EP will be revealed at a later date.
HyunA debuted as a member of the girl group Wonder Girls in 2007, but left the group the same year. In 2009 she joined girl group 4Minute. She launched her solo career in 2010 and has since released hits like "Bubble Pop" (2011), "Ice Cream" (2012) and "Lip & Hip" (2017).
She is also known for her appearance in the music video for Psy’s 2012 global hit “Gangnam Style.”
