Members of girl group NewJeans are gearing up for their long-awaited comeback by working on new music in Copenhagen, reports said Monday.

“The members are preparing for new activities in line with their individual conditions and schedule,” ADOR, the girl group's agency, told reporters Monday.

Fans have been sharing a photo of NewJeans Members Hanni, Haerin and Hyein allegedly in Copenhagen, which went viral starting April 12 in online communities such as X.

Another online user also claimed to have seen the name “ADOR” on the reservation list for a music studio in Denmark.

"[NewJeans'] visit to Copenhagen is a part of the group's preproduction, intended to embrace the group's new musical journey,” the agency said. “We will officially share their future direction when the time is right.”

NewJeans debuted under HYBE's subsidiary label ADOR in 2022 as a quintet, and stormed the K-pop scene with its debut EP “New Jeans” which featured hit songs “Attention,” “Hype Boy” and “Cookie.” The group experienced immense success, topping the Billboard 200 chart with its second EP “Get Up” (2023), upon its release.

Following a dispute between HYBE and ADOR's then-CEO Min Hee-jin, who had been overseeing the production of NewJeans, the five members — Minji, Hanni, Haerin, Danielle , and Hyein — sided with Min and announced a hiatus from all activities in March 2025, when a court issued an injunction to ban NewJeans from going on independent activities without HYBE.

Haerin, Hyein and Hanni announced their return to the agency and the group in November last year, while the agency said it is still “in talks” with Minji. However, ADOR announced in December 2025 that it had terminated Danielle’s exclusive contract, citing her alleged responsibility for NewJeans’s departure and delayed return, and filed a lawsuit for damages.
