Girl group NiziU will release its first Japanese EP, "Rise Up," on July 24, according to its agency JYP Entertainment.

"Rise Up" is set to drop 11 months after "Coconut," the girl group's last full-length album, was released in July last year. "Coconut" sold 141,804 copies in its first week, ranking No. 1 on the weekly Oricon Albums Chart.

NiziU held its first fan meet and greet, "NiziU Fan Meeting with U 2024 Nizi'U'niversity," on June 1 and 2 at K-Arena Yokohama in Japan. The girl group will host another fan meet and greet on July 27 and 28 at Osaka-jo Hall in Japan.

It debuted in Japan in December 2020 with the single "Step and a step," which topped the Oricon Singles Chart and the Billboard Japan Singles Chart upon release. The girl group released its Korean debut single album, "Press Play," in October 2023.

NiziU debuted as part of JYP Entertainment's “Globalization by Localization” project, which aims to localize the K-pop system in overseas markets. The group was formed through a joint audition program, “Nizi Project,” with Sony Music Entertainment in June 2020.

The all-Japanese group consists of nine members: Mako, Rio, Maya, Riku, Ayaka, Mayuka, Rima, Miihi and Nina.
