Pinkfong, Baby Shark to introduce Korea in Culture Ministry's children's book
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korean Culture and Information Service will together publish an English storybook featuring globally popular characters Pinkfong and Baby Shark, the ministry said Wednesday.
The book is titled "Let's Explore Korea with Pinkfong and Baby Shark" and is for children aged between seven and 11.
The book, which will be about 100 pages long, introduces Korea under five main themes across 18 episodes. The main themes include Korea's four seasons, Korean art and culture, and more.
Short quizzes are included at the end of each episode, allowing the readers to review and enjoy learning about Korean culture in a fun and interactive way, the ministry said.
The Korean Culture and Information Service said it has produced a music video using a tune that mixes the famous folk song "Arirang" with the melody of "Pinkfong Baby Shark Dance."
The Korean Culture and Information Service said the song aims to appeal to children, hoping it to be as addictive as the melody of the song "Baby Shark" (2015), which was a global sensation among children.
The music video was released on the Korean Culture and Information Service's YouTube channel and the Korean government's official multi-language website Korea.net, on Thursday.
