POW makes official debut with EP 'Favorite,' dance track 'Dazzling'
Boy band POW made its official debut on Wednesday with its EP "Favorite" and new track "Dazzling," after presenting themselves to the public for the first time in a pre-debut showcase last month.
"We feel just as excited and happy today as we did with our pre-debut event," member Jungbin said in a press release. "We'll promise to be a POW that doesn't take anything for granted and pays back all the love we've received."
POW dropped a prerelease single "Favorite" on Sept. 13 and promoted its title track on weekly music shows for two weeks since its release. It also released dance track "Amazing" last Thursday.
New songs "Dazzling" and "Slow Dancing" were released Wednesday at 6 p.m.
POW includes Thai actor-turned-singer Yorch, who already has over 2 million followers on social media. Dongyeon, who is of Korean and Filipino descent and was a contestant in SBS's audition show "Loud" (2021), is also part of the group. The other three members are Jungbin, Hyunbin and Hong.
The name POW is an onomatopoeia for an explosion, reflecting the members' aspiration to bring explosive energy to the K-pop scene. The band is going for a "European youth culture theme," according to the agency.
