Boy band POW to debut with 'Favorite' in October
POW will debut with its first EP "Favorite" on Oct. 11, the boy band's agency GRID Entertainment said Wednesday.
POW dropped a prerelease single "Favorite" on Sept. 13 and promoted its title track on weekly music shows for two weeks since its release.
A teaser video released Wednesday showed the band's youngest member Hong organize photos of POW. More teasers and the track list will be released in the coming days.
POW will be holding a countdown livestream at 5 p.m., on the day of the album's release, engaging with its fans, GRID Entertainment said.
POW includes Thai actor-turned-singer Yorch, who already has over 2 million followers on social media. Dongyeon, who is of Korean and Filipino descent and was a contestant in SBS's audition show "Loud" (2021), is also part of the group. The other three members are Jungbin, Hyunbin and Hong.
The name POW is an onomatopoeia for an explosion, embodying the members' aspiration to bring explosive energy to the K-pop scene. The band is going for a "European youth culture theme," according to the agency.
