Seventeen's Jeonghan to begin military service in second half of year
Boy band Seventeen’s Jeonghan will begin his military service in the second half of this year, his agency Pledis Entertainment said Monday.
Jeonghan will not be able to participate in promotional activities for Seventeen’s 12th EP and the “Right Here” world tour, both of which are scheduled for October.
The Seventeen member will participate in the boy band’s performance scheduled for Lollapalooza Berlin festival, held at the Olympiastadion Berlin on Sept. 8.
“Further details regarding Jeonghan’s military service will be provided later in a separate notice,” said Pledis Entertainment.
It added that Seventeen’s Jun will also not be present for the promotional activities of the new EP and the world tour. He will not appear for the boy band’s performance at Lollapalooza Berlin festival as well.
“After thorough discussions with Jun and the other members of Seventeen, we have decided that Jun will pursue acting and other opportunities in China during the latter half of this year,” said Pledis Entertainment.
Both Seventeen members have “filmed most of the content [they] could in advance,” said the agency.
Seventeen will kick off "Right Here" with two concerts at Goyang Stadium, Gyeonggi on Oct. 12 and 13. The boy band will then go on to perform in five U.S. cities and four Japanese cities as part of the world tour.
