Siyeon of Dreamcatcher to take time off due to anxiety
Siyeon of girl group Dreamcatcher will take time off due to anxiety issues, her agency Dreamcatcher Company said Friday.
The artist has been displaying symptoms of anxiety and poor condition, for which she was prescribed sufficient rest from her work, according to the agency.
"The artist's health was our utmost priority, which is why we decided, after thorough communication with Siyeon, that she focus on regaining her health," the company said in a press release.
Siyeon will sit out the promotion activities of the group's 10th EP, "VirtuouS," set for release on Wednesday. The other six members — JiU, SuA, Handong, Yoohyeon, Dami and Gahyeon — will take part as usual.
The agency said, "We will inform you as soon as she [Siyeon] can return to her schedule."
“VirtuouS” is the group's first EP in eight months, following its ninth EP, “VillainS,” released in November last year.
Dreamcatcher told stories of the girl group in a parallel universe, “VillainS.” The girl group will continue building on this narrative with "VirtuouS,” according to Dreamcatcher Company.
Dreamcatcher has been performing in cities including Barcelona, Spain; London; Paris; and Hong Kong as part of its “Luck Inside 7 Doors” world tour, which started in Seoul on Jan. 13. The girl group is set to perform in Taipei, Taiwan on July 27, followed by concerts in Mexico City on Sept. 11; São Paulo, Brazil on Sept. 15; and Santiago, Chile on Sept. 17.
