Stray Kids to host first in-person fan meetup in Japan
Boy band Stray Kids will hold its first in-person meet and greet for fans in Japan in April, the band’s agency JYP Entertainment announced Thursday.
The band will hold the event, titled “SKZ Toy World,” at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka on April 26 and 27 and at the Belluna Dome in Saitama on April 27 and 28.
Details about ticket sales for the event were not revealed.
The promotional video for the event was uploaded to the band’s social media pages on Monday. The video features flashy neon signs along with all eight SKZOO, the band members’ representative animal characters.
Stray Kids made its Japanese debut in March 2020 with the album “SKZ2020,” a collection of the band’s hit songs that included Japanese versions of three tracks. The band’s Blu-ray, “Stray Kids 2nd World Tour ‘Maniac’ Encore in Japan,” released on Feb. 7, topped Oricon Albums Chart’s weekly DVD/Blu-ray rankings and weekly music Blu-ray rankings as of Monday.
The band recently won the Best Group/Duo award at the People’s Choice Awards, and the Best Performance and Artist of the Year awards at the Hanteo Music Awards.
It will also contend for the K-pop Artist of the Year and K-pop Song of the Year awards at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
