Member Woo Kyung-jun of The New Six quit the boy band on Wednesday.

"We have decided to respect his wishes and terminate our contract with him as of Oct. 23, 2024. We discussed this matter carefully with the members of The New Six, which will continue as a five-member team from now on."

The New Six debuted on May 17, 2022, as the first K-pop boy band to be put together by P Nation founder, Psy.

It has released three albums and one single so far but has received a lukewarm reception from the public amid heated competition in the K-pop scene.

The New Six took part in cable channel Mnet's survival program "Road to Kingdom: Ace of Ace" along with six other K-pop bands and became the first group to be eliminated from the competition earlier this month.
