The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters announced Friday that it will loosen the restrictions placed on music concert venues from June 14, signaling the possibility of live K-pop concerts and outdoor music festivals.

Under the new set of social distancing guidelines regarding Covid-19, the number of people allowed to enter a concert venue in regions under social distancing Level 2, which includes Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon, Daegu and Jeju, has been increased from the current 99 to 4,000. The number excludes artists and staff members.

However, audience members will still have to sit one seat apart from each other, or one meter apart if seats are being installed for outdoor events. They still have to wear masks while cheering, singing along, and foods and beverages are still prohibited.

Current social distancing levels will be maintained for three more weeks.
