Coed K-pop group KARD releases new single 'Without You'
Coed K-pop group KARD released its digital single “Without You” on Monday.
“We are so glad to meet with fans again after 10 months [since our last release]. We are back with a bright track that suits the season of spring, and I think our fans will enjoy the cool song,” member BM said in a press release the same day, prior to the album's release.
“It’s been a while. We produced the song with affection and love, and we know for sure that our fans will love the cool and refreshing side of KARD,” J. Seph added.
“Without You,” a track based on Tropical-Latin melodies mixed with EDM sounds, has been co-written by members J. Seph and BM.
“I wrote the lyrics making sure to talk about the theme of ‘to someone, I am indispensable,'" J. Seph said. "But as a whole, I think BM’s part stands out the most and will be the most enjoyable to the listeners.”
KARD members also teased that the coed band will continue to be busy this year.
“We will continue to release some fine tracks this year, starting with ‘Without You.’ We will also be paying a visit to our global fans. Please look forward to our activities this year!” Somin said.
“We plan on communicating with our fans after the comeback, and will continue to hold a world tour just like last year. We also plan to greet our fans at multiple [music] festivals around the world,” Jiwoo added.
KARD debuted in July 2017 with its EP “Hola Hola.” The four-member coed group consists of members J.Seph, BM, Somin and Jiwoo. The band, commonly considered to be more popular overseas than in Korea, has held multiple performances in the United States, Mexico, Chile, Columbia, Argentina, Brazil and others.
KARD most recently performed at the MIK Festival Paris 2023 in France in February and at the Sound Check Festival 2023 in Thailand in March.
