Indie band wave to earth to kick off 'the pieces' tour in September
Indie band wave to earth is scheduled to kick off “the pieces” tour with a concert in Vancouver, Canada, on Sept. 4, its agency WAVY said on Tuesday.
The band is scheduled to perform in 21 North American cities, including Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco, Chicago and New York, before heading to eight Asian cities.
After the Vancouver concert, the band will perform in Seattle on Sept. 5; San Francisco on Sept. 8; Los Angeles on Sept. 9; Phoenix on Sept. 12; Mexico City on Sept. 15; Salt Lake City on Sept. 18; Denver on Sept. 19; Minneapolis on Sept. 21; Chicago on Sept. 22; Toronto on Sept. 25; Montreal on Sept. 26; Boston on Sept. 27; New York on Sept. 29; Washington on Oct. 2; Philadelphia on Oct. 3; Atlanta on Oct. 6; Charlotte, North Carolina, on Oct. 7; Houston on Oct. 9; Austin, Texas, on Oct. 10; Irving, Texas on Oct. 11.
Its Asian leg of the tour is scheduled to begin in Bangkok on Nov. 12 before moving to Manila on Nov. 15; Hong Kong on Nov. 18; Singapore on Nov. 20; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Nov. 22; Taipei, Taiwan, on Nov. 24; Osaka, Japan, on Nov. 26; Tokyo on Nov. 27; and Seoul on a date yet to be announced.
wave to earth comprises Kim Daniel on vocals and guitar, Shin Dong-gyu on drums and Cha Soon-jong on bass. It is known for songs such as “seasons” (2020), “bad” (2023) and “love.” (2023).
The band was formed in 2018, when Kim and Shin played together in a high school worship band and later brought in Cha. It made its debut in 2019 with its first EP, “wave.”
wave to earth gained popularity overseas for its mellow, dreamy beats and its contrastingly energetic concerts, which are full of improvisations. The band composes its own music, with its lyrics mostly written in English, and its discography features a wide range of genres.
It recently released a single, “heaven and hell,” on Friday.
wave to Earth's monthly listeners on Spotify surpassed 7 million, and its biggest hit “seasons” has accumulated 500 million streams, according to its agency.
