Singer Hyolyn announced through her label Bridge on Friday that she is currently working hard to drop an album next month.

“As she is dubbed a ‘Summer Queen,’ she will come back with songs so people can have another ‘hot summer’ this year,” the label said in a statement. It also added that she’s working especially hard on her performance, “which will be something more than what was seen on ‘Queendom 2.’”

Hyolyn competed in Mnet’s K-pop competition show for girls, titled “Queendom 2,” which came to an end on Thursday evening. Although the final trophy went to girl group WJSN, Hyolyn grabbed the attention of many fans with her powerful and spectacular performances. Her final collaboration performance with rapper Lee Young-ji, staging “Waka Boom(My way)” on June 2, the final episode, is being praised by many fans online.

Hyolin has a couple of upcoming appearances at festivals this month. She will be performing on June 22 for an event held on the eve of the Unesco Daegu Music Week and on June 26 for Bucheon University festival.

Hyolyn debuted in 2010 as a member of girl group Sistar. Sistar disbanded in 2017, and Hyolyn has been working as a solo artist since.
