Lee Jun-hyuk rumored to be taking on role in third 'The Outlaws' film
Actor Lee Jun-hyuk could be taking on a villainous role in the third installment of “The Outlaws,” which revolves around police detective Ma Seok-do and the criminals he tackles.
According to Lee’s agency Ace Factory, the actor “has been offered to feature in the next film and is positively considering the role.”
Actor Ma Dong-seok, also known as Don Lee, has featured in the two previous "Outlaws" films as the all-powerful cop Ma Seok-do. Ma also had a hand in producing the films.
The first film “The Outlaws” (2017) garnered over 6.8 million in tickets sales. Its plot revolves around the battle between Ma Seok-do and a notorious mafia leader from Harbin, China, Jang Chen (portrayed by Yoon Kye-sang). In the sequel “The Roundup,” set to be released in local theaters on May 18, Ma Seok-do will chase a violent killer named Kang Hae-sang (portrayed by Son Suk-ku).
Ma confirmed to the press after press screening for “The Roundup” Wednesday that the film franchise will “continue into other cases and villains revolving around detective Ma Seok-do.” According to the actor, he has “about eight scenarios that I had thought out even before the script for ‘The Outlaws’ came out. However I cannot go into further details in fear of a spoiler. But [the series] will continue.”
