Netflix Korea's 'Seoul Vibe' ranks No. 8 worldwide on streaming platform
Netflix Korea’s adventure film starring actor Yoo Ah-in “Seoul Vibe” ranked at No. 8 worldwide on Netflix, according to streaming analytics company Flixpatrol on Monday.
As of Sunday, the movie, which was released Aug. 26, was at eighth place on Flixpatrol’s “Top Movies on Netflix.” It was the most-watched movie in Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, the Phillipines and Hong Kong; second place in Malaysia and Singapore; and third place in Japan, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
“Seoul Vibe” is set in 1988, a year that holds cultural significance to Korea as it held its first Olympics that summer. A team of young, ragtag drivers and mechanics led by Dong-wook, played by actor Yoo, sets off on an undercover mission in the days leading up to the 1988 Seoul Olympics to dismantle a massive money-laundering ring in hopes of achieving the American Dream.
The film also stars actors Ko Kyung-pyo, Lee Kyu-hyung, Park Ju-hyun, former Wanna One member-turned-actor Ong Seong-wu, Moon So-ri and Song Min-ho, also known as Mino of boy band Winner.
