Girl group NiziU of JYP Entertainment, which is active on the Japanese entertainment scene, has set a record for a girl group by having two songs surpass 100 million streams on Oricon’s weekly streaming chart, according to the chart on Wednesday.
NiziU's debut single “Step and A Step,” which was released in December, surpassed 100 million views on Wednesday while its track “Make You Happy,” released before its official debut in June also achieved the feat.
The group, which has nine Japanese members, debuted last December. It was created through a joint audition project called “Nizi Project” by Sony Music and JYP Entertainment.
