Six K-pop groups are set to perform on this year's NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen, one of Japan's most prestigious television music programs, the most for K-pop groups to appear on the show.
The six artists are boy bands Seventeen, Stray Kids, girl groups Le Sserafim, a Twice subunit Misamo, NiziU and JO1, according to a report.
It will be Seventeen's first appearance on the show since its Japan debut in May 2018, its agency Pledis Entertainment said Tuesday.
"We are delighted to make an appearance in the program for the first time," members of Seventeen were quoted as saying in a press release.
"Making an appearance in Kohaku was one of our goals when we debuted in Japan," they added. "Please look forward to our performance."
