Webtoons “The Golden Spoon,” “Gaus Electronics,” “Unlock the Boss” and “Moonyou” and web novels “The Law Cafe” and “The Forbidden Marriage” have all been or will be made into K-dramas during the second half of 2022, said Naver Webtoon on Thursday.

“The Law Cafe,” originally a web novel by author Noh Seung-ah, aired its first episode on Sept. 5 and is currently airing on KBS. The series stars actors Lee Seung-gi and Lee Se-young and depicts the romance between a prosecutor-turned-landlord and a lawyer tenant. The web novel surpassed 25 million downloads and was also made into a webtoon that ran between 2019 and 2020.

Webtoon “The Golden Spoon” will start airing as a television series on MBC from Sept. 23. It tells the story of a child who is born in a financially struggling household but becomes able to change his family after he acquires a golden spoon. Yook Sung-jae of boy band BTOB and Jung Chae-yeon will play the leads.

“Gaus Electronics” will be made into a series on ENA and hit the small screen on Sept. 39. The original webtoon by artist Kwak Baek-soo was a long-running hit, posted from 2011 to 2019. It saw popularity for its realistic depiction of office workers’ lives at a multinational electronics company.

“The Forbidden Marriage,” a web novel set during the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910), is set to be made into an MBC series, and webtoon “Unlock the Boss” into an ENA series.

Sci-fi comedy webtoon “Moonyou” by popular artist Cho Seok will be made into a 4DX movie and hit local theaters on Oct. 12. It tells the story of an astronaut left alone on the moon and was already made into a film in China in July.
