Tom Cruise to enter Korea one day early to promote 'Top Gun: Maverick'
Tom Cruise will arrive in Korea on Friday, a day earlier than planned, to promote his new film “Top Gun: Maverick.”
According to the film distributor Lotte Entertainment on Thursday, Cruise will arrive a day earlier in Korea through Gimpo International Airport due to changes in aviation schedules. The actor lands in Korea from Britain, where he is currently filming for “Mission: Impossible 8.”
After taking a full day's rest on Friday, he will promote his film in Korea from this weekend.
This is the actor’s 10th visit to Korea.
Cruise is scheduled to promote the film in Korea with producer Jerry Bruckheimer, actors Miles Teller, Glen Powell, Jay Ellis and Greg Tarzan Davis.
A red carpet event is scheduled at Lotte World Tower in Jamsil, southern Seoul, at 5 p.m. on Sunday. On Monday, the cast will meet with the local press at Lotte Hotel Seoul in central Seoul from 2:30 p.m.
“Top Gun: Maverick” is the sequel to the 1986 classic “Top Gun” (1986), directed by Tony Scott. Cruise played Lieutenant Pete Maverick Mitchell. He plays the same character in the new film.
The film releases in local theaters on June 22.
