Victon's Chan being investigated for drunk driving, halts all activities
Chan of boy band Victon has halted all his activities due to allegations of drunk driving against him, his agency IST Entertainment said Thursday.
Chan, whose full name is Heo Chan, allegedly drank with acquaintances Tuesday evening and then drove under the influence before being stopped by police.
Chan is being investigated at the Seoul Gangnam Police Station in southern Seoul.
"It appears that Chan will get a license suspension after the investigation is finished," IST said in a statement. "He will make sure to do his best to cooperate with the investigation.
"Chan is deeply sorry for making a bad choice; something he knows he never should have done," the statement continued. "His team and solo activities have been halted as of today."
Victon is set to hold a concert on Oct. 15 and 16. Five other members of the band will perform without Chan.
Victon debuted in 2016 and has released songs “I’m Fine” (2016), “Time of Sorrow” (2018), “Mayday” (2020) and “What I Said” (2021).
The band consists of seven members: Seungwoo, Seungsik, Chan, Sejun, Hanse, Byungchan and Subin. Seungwoo is currently serving his mandatory military service.
