Enhypen to release 'Memorabilia' album based on HYBE's 'Dark Moon' series
Boy band Enhypen will release an album based on HYBE’s original “Dark Moon” fantasy series on May 13, titled "Memorabilia."
The songs of the album will depict “destined love” and “existential concerns as a vampire,” key themes that represent both Enhypen and the “Dark Moon” series, according to the band's agency, Belift Lab.
A webtoon series based on Enhypen using the “Dark Moon” story, often referred to as intellectual property (IP) in the industry, titled “Dark Moon: The Blood Altar,” began in January 2022. The prequel to the story, “Children of Vamfield,” is currently serialized on Naver, with new episodes uploaded every Saturday.
The series is a dark fantasy urban romance story that follows vampires, designed and characterized after Enhypen members, as students at a high school in Riverfield. Members from fellow HYBE boy band, &Team, are characterized as rival werewolves to the vampires.
The band previously released its digital singles “One in A Billion” (2022) and "Criminal Love" (2023) as soundtracks for the webtoon series.
Enhypen is currently on its U.S. leg of the band’s “Fate Plus” world tour. The band will perform in Tacoma on Wednesday, and at two more cities in the United States before leaving for its “Fate Plus” encore concerts in Japan.
Enhypen debuted under Belift Lab, a subsidiary label under HYBE, in 2020 with its EP "Border: Day One." The band was formed through Mnet and HYBE's audition reality show "I-Land" in September of the same year.
Belift Lab recently rolled out its newest girl group, ILLIT, in March.
