GFriend to reunite in January for 10th anniversary
Girl group GFriend will reunite next January to celebrate its 10th debut anniversary.
“GFriend will meet fans through a special project next January to celebrate its 10th debut anniversary,” Source Music said in a statement on Tuesday.
Information regarding what the project is will be unveiled at a later date.
This will be the first reunion for the group in four years since their disbandment. The sextet disbanded in 2021 following the termination of their exclusive contract with Source Music.
The members have continued their music careers, except for Kim So-won, also known as Sowon, who has pursued an acting career. Eunha, SinB and Umji formed a trio called VIVIZ, and Yerin is currently active as a soloist.
“The project was accomplished with the wishes from the members to present a precious memory to Buddy [GFriend's fandom]," Source Music said.
GFriend debuted in January 2015 with its single "Glass Bead" and quickly rose to fame with hits like “Me gustas tu” (2015), “Rough” (2016) and “Love Whisper” (2017).
