ITZY's Lia to resume activities for band's new album

Girl group ITZY member LIA [JYP ENTERTAINMENT]

Girl group ITZY member Lia will resume her activities after taking time off due to health concerns and participate in the band's new album set to drop in the second half of the year.

“Lia's symptoms of tension and anxiety, which she has been experiencing for some time, have significantly improved through treatment and rest,” ITZY’s agency JYP Entertainment said Tuesday.

“After careful discussions with Lia, she has decided to resume her activities, starting with the release of ITZY's new album scheduled for the second half of the year,” said the agency.

JYP Entertainment announced Lia’s hiatus last September, saying that she was “experiencing extreme nervousness and anxiety about continuing her schedule.” As of July, the hiatus has lasted for approximately nine months.

Lia is set to be included in the process of making the new album and its following promotional activities, but will not participate in public activities before the album's release, according to the agency.

No specific dates or details of the upcoming album have been disclosed as of Tuesday.

ITZY is currently holding its second world tour, “Born to Be,” which kicked off with concerts at Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Songpa District, southern Seoul, in February. The girl group is set to perform in 27 cities in 17 nations around the world. The tour will wrap up on Aug. 10, with a final performance in Hong Kong.
