K-pop stars at 'SMTOWN Live 2024' attract 100,000 fans to Tokyo Dome
SM Entertainment's agencywide concert "SMTOWN Live 2024" rocked 100,000 concertgoers at Japan's Tokyo Dome on Wednesday and Thursday, celebrating the event's 20th edition since it first began in 2008.
The "SMTOWN Live 2024 SMCU Palace @Tokyo" took place this week featuring the agency's biggest and youngest stars, including Kangta, TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls' Generation's Taeyeon and Hyoyeon, Red Velvet, NCT 127, NCT Dream, WayV, aespa, Riize and newly-debuting boy band NCT Wish.
The four-hour concert was aired on KNTV and also streamed live in 80 theaters across Japan. The second-day concert was livestreamed on the fan community app Weverse and the online concert platform Beyond LIVE.
The groups performed their well-known hits and also collaborated for special stages, such as TVXQ and Riize, Super Junior and NCT Wish, Kangta and NCT's Doyoung, Super Junior's Ryeowook and Riize's Wish, and more.
NCT Wish performed its debut track "Wish" for the first time during the concert, just a day after its official debut on Feb. 21. SM Entertainment's virtual singer naevis, officially spelt nævis, also teased its upcoming debut.
