NCT's Doyoung to drop first solo album on April 22
NCT’s Doyoung will start his solo artist career with his debut album, “Youth,” on April 22, the singer’s agency SM Entertainment said Thursday.
The full-length album will consist of 10 tracks that depict the “variety of emotions felt in the waves of youth,” according to SM Entertainment. The album’s Korean title literally translates to “foam of youth.”
The album will be filled with stories that speak candidly of youth, the agency said.
Doyoung debuted as a member of NCT U, a subunit of NCT, in 2016 with the digital single “The 7th Sense.” He is also a member of the subunits NCT 127 and NCT Dojaejung. He is the main vocalist for all three groups.
The singer has sung multiple soundtracks for drama series including “Like a Star” for Tving’s “Yumi’s Cells” (2021) and “Beautiful Day” for SBS’s “Dr. Romantic 3” (2023). He has also participated in various duet songs such as “Fallin’” (2022) with actor Kim Min-ha and “Star Blossom” (2017) with singer Sejeong.
