QWER to collaborate with League of Legends for new song 'Anima Power'
Girl band QWER will collaborate with the popular online game League of Legends (LoL) to start a summer campaign with a new song, animation and more, LoL developer Riot Games said Friday.
QWER will release the song "Anima Power" on Friday inspired by LoL’s “Anima Squad” summer event in which select characters in the game wearing animal costumes form a special combat squad to save the world.
Producer Lee Dong-hyuk, who had a hand in making all of the group's songs, will be the project manager for the collaboration.
Riot Games will release an animated video in which QWER will appear as the "Anima Squad" version of itself on Friday. The video will be released on the YouTube channel and social media accounts of the quartet, Riot Games and LoL.
QWER will also appear in additional content introducing the “Anima Squad” event and also a dance challenge video that will be released in the near future, according to the game publisher. The specific date for the release of the additional content has not yet been specified.
The four-member group composed of Chodan, Magenta, Hina and Siyeon debuted on Oct. 18, 2023, with its first single, “Harmony from Discord.” The rock band is slated to perform at this year's Pentaport Rock Festival, one of Korea’s largest rock music festivals, which will be held in Incheon on Aug. 2.
