Spotify crowns ILLIT's 'Magnetic' as most-streamed song released in first half of year

“Magnetic” by girl group ILLIT was streamed the most out of the Korean songs released in the first half of year, according to the "2024 South Korea Music Global Impact List" by streaming service Spotify released on Thursday.


The list compiled the 30 most-streamed tracks by Korean artists that were released from Jan. 1 to June 30.

BTS had six songs on the list. The group's highest ranking song was V's "Fri(end)s" that landed on No. 2. Jungkook’s “Never Let Go” ranked No. 9 and j-hope’s track “Neuron,” featuring rapper Gaeko and Yoonmirae, ranked No. 11. The two BTS members’ collaborative song “I Wonder…” landed on No. 27.

RM charted two songs on the chart, with “Come back to me” and “Lost!” from his new album "Right Place, Wrong Person" reaching No. 19 and 22, respectively.

Girl group Le Sserafim was listed three times in the list. The girl group’s song “Smart” and “Easy” listed as No. 3 and No. 4, respectively. "Stupid in Love," a song by U.S. singer Max featuring the group's Huh Yun-jin, reached No. 10.

"The 2024 South Korean Music Global Impact List highlights the recent achievements and current status of Korean music on the global stage," said Park Jung-joo, Spotify’s head of music in Korea. "Spotify remains committed to supporting Korean music in reaching greater heights globally by connecting local artists with listeners around the world."
