Girl group Weeekly is set to brighten the summer with the release of their fifth EP, “Bliss.”

The girl group held a showcase at Shinhan Sol Pay Square in Mapo District, western Seoul, ahead of the EP's 6 p.m. release. “Bliss” is Weeekly’s first new EP in eight months, following its last EP “ColoRise” that dropped last November.

“We tried to embody the splendor of our dynamic youth with the album,” said group member Lee Soo-jin. “The album’s theme is limitless joy.”

“Bliss” has five tracks: Lead track “Lights On,” “Twenties,” “Dance Dance Dance!,” “Classic” and “Page.”

The lead track, “Lights On,” showcases prominent brass and synth elements paired with a powerful drum beat. Its lyrics celebrate the joy of summer, with a storyline centered on dancing under the stars. The music video complements the lyrics, featuring the members dancing along a beach.

“This is our first comeback with a summer-themed song," said Zoa. "We focused on capturing the refreshing vibes associated with the ocean, as reflected in the music video."

“[Lights On] is a track with positive vibes and dynamic charms,” said Monday. “The passion of summer blends with a cool energy, highlighting our vibrant personalities.”

“Bliss” is notable as it is the first EP released since all the group's members entered their 20s, as the youngest member, Zoa, recently turned 20.

“We tried to put together a really good album, since it marks the start of a new chapter,” said Zoa.

“We were great friends when we were in our teenage years,” said Monday. “But now we are even closer, and it feels like we are a family.”

Weeekly is set to embark on a tour across the Americas this year, kicking off with a performance in Mexico City on Sept. 6.

"This is our first time going on tour," said Park So-eun. "I feel a mix of nervousness and excitement, and we are working hard to present diverse stages and performances.

“Our song ‘After School’ (2021) recently was streamed 200 million times on Spotify,” said Lee Soo-jin. “I hope we can achieve the same with ‘Lights On’.”

Weeekly debuted in 2020 with its first EP, "We are." The group is known for its upbeat high teen music, shown in songs "Tag Me (@Me)" (2020), "Zig Zag" (2020), "After School” and more.
