Yena to release new album in January

Singer Yena will release a new album on Jan. 15, her agency Yuehua Entertainment said Friday.

The album will be Yena’s first music to be dropped in Korea after seven months since her second single, “Hate XX,” was released on June 27.

She dropped the single “Smiley -Japanese Ver. (Feat. Chanmina)” on Aug. 7, kicking off her Japanese solo career.

Detailed information, including the album’s title, will be disclosed in the future.

Yena, also known by her full name Choi Ye-na, debuted as part of IZ*ONE, a project girl group comprised of 12 winners of Mnet’s hit audition program “Produce 48.” IZ*ONE disbanded in April 2020, and Yena made her solo debut in 2022 under her current agency, Yuehua Entertainment. She is known for her songs “Smiley” (2022) and “Smartphone” (2022).
