Japanese duo Yoasobi, best known for "Idol," will hold its first concert in Korea on Dec. 16, the concert's organizer Livet said Wednesday.

Yoasobi's first concert in Korea will be held at Korea University's Hwajeong Gymnasium on the university's campus in Seongbuk District in northern Seoul, as a part of the duo's first Asian tour.

Tickets for the concert will be sold through Melon Ticket starting Oct. 4.

Yoasobi, consisting of vocalist ikura and producer Ayase, debuted in 2019 in Japan. The duo saw widespread popularity in Japan with its debut track, "Into The Night" (2019), and its first EP, "The Book," which was released in 2021, and rose to fame in Korea with "Idol."

"Idol," released on April 12 as the duo's 22nd digital single and the main soundtrack for the Japanese anime "Oshi no Ko" — translated to "My Favorite Idol" — saw global success, with the music video surpassing 100 million views only a month into the song's release, making it the fastest J-pop song to reach such numbers since release. The song became the first J-pop song to land atop YouTube Music Korea's music chart in July.

The song and challenges that utilize the song also went viral on TikTok in Japan and Korea, with multiple K-pop artists shooting the "My Favorite Idol challenge" on the platform, spreading the track's popularity.

The duo's first overseas tour, "Yoasobi Asia Tour 2023-2024," will kick off with the band appearing in festivals in Hong Kong and Taiwan on Dec. 1 and 2, followed by solo concerts in Korea, Singapore, Malaysia and Taiwan throughout the end of January.
