RIIZE's 'Love 119' is first song from 2024 to make Global K-pop chart's top 10 [GLOBAL K-POP CHART]

Boy band RIIZE [SM ENTERTAINMENT]

RIIZE’s “Love 119” is the first song from this year to land in the top 10 of the Circle Chart’s Global K-pop chart, as Jung Kook takes back his No. 1 position with “Standing Next to You.”

The Global K-pop chart for the third week of 2024 (Jan. 14 – Jan. 20) saw the return of “Standing Next to You” (2023) back to the number one spot, followed by LE SSERAFIM’s “Perfect Night” (2023) in second place. “Perfect Night” landed at No. 1 on last week’s chart after staying in second place since the third week of November.

RIIZE’s latest digital release “Love 119” landed at No. 10 on the chart, one step higher than last week. “Love 119,” which was released on Jan. 5, is based on the pop-dance genre featuring piano and drum sounds. The song sampled rock band izi’s hit soundtrack “Emergency Room” (2005). RIIZE won its first “M Countdown” (2004 –) trophy and its first “Inkigayo” (1998 –) trophy with the song.

The rest of the chart contains many familiar faces, with aespa’s “Drama” (2023) and NewJeans’s “Super Shy” (2023) at third and fourth place, followed by the explicit version of Jung Kook’s “Seven (feat. Latto)” (2023) at fifth, “3D (feat. Jack Harlow)” at sixth, Jimin’s “Like Crazy” (2023) at seventh and the clean version of “Seven (feat. Latto)” at eighth.

NewJeans’s tracks followed the chart, with “OMG” (2023) in ninth place, “Ditto” (2022) in 11th and “ETA” (2023) in 12th.

Circle Chart's Global K-pop Chart combines streaming data from platforms worldwide, including Korean steaming services Melon, Genie, Flo, Bugs, Vibe and international streaming services Apple Music, Spotify and YouTube.
