Twice sold 20 million album copies since debut in Korea, Japan combined
Twice sold 20 million album copies in Korea and Japan combined, according to JYP Entertainment on Thursday.
Twice released a total of 43 albums in Korea and Japan since its debut in 2015, and have sold a total of 20,013,182 units, its agency said on Thursday.
From its debut EP, "The Story Begins," released in October 2015, to its 13th EP, "With YOU-th," released February this year, the group sold more than 14.5 million albums in Korea, based on Circle Chart tallies. The tallied figure includes sales of Nayeon’s solo EP, “Im Nayeon,” and Jihyo’s solo full-length album, “Zone.”
Twice’s Japanese albums, ranging from their first greatest hits compilation album, "#Twice," released in June 2017, to the single "Hare Hare" released in May last year, have a total number of approximately 5.5 million copies sold, based on Warner Music Japan tallies. This includes the sales of the group's all-Japanese sub-unit Misamo's debut album "Masterpiece" (2023).
Twice is continuing to rise in a number of categories on major music charts. Its latest release, "With YOU-th," topped the Billboard 200 albums chart on March 9. Twice amassed more than 20 million followers on its Spotify channel and surpassed 10 billion cumulative listens on the streaming service worldwide on May 2.
Twice is currently on its fifth world tour, "Ready To Be” and is set to continue performances in Japan in July. The group will perform in Yanmar Stadium Nagai in Osaka on July 13 and 14, Ajinomoto Stadium in Tokyo on July 20 and 21 and Nissan Stadium in Kanagawa on July 27 and 28. Twice will be the first female foreign act to perform at the Nissan Stadium.
Nayeon will release her second solo album, "Na," on June 14, followed by Twice's new Japanese studio album "Dive" on July 17.
