YG Entertainment's Yang Hyun-suk reunites with 2NE1 members after eight years
YG Entertainment head producer Yang Hyun-suk met with the members of girl group 2NE1 on Thursday at the new YG headquarters building in Mapo District, western Seoul, marking their first official reunion in eight years.
“Yang warmly welcomed each of the four members of 2NE1 and engaged in a very meaningful and significant conversation during the two-hour official meeting,” YG Entertainment said Friday in a press release.
The occasion was particularly noteworthy as it wasn't just a casual private meeting — it was an official gathering that took place as the members' first visit to the new YG headquarters. The new headquarters was fully constructed in 2020.
There were no concrete plans made during the meeting, due to it being their first meeting in eight years.
“But since Yang has a special affection for 2NE1 and empathized with the requests from the members, we expect to soon share good news with the fans,” said YG Entertainment.
Since their debut with the single “Fire” in 2009, 2NE1 has released numerous hits such as "I Don't Care" (2010), “I Am the Best” (2011), "Lonely" (2011), "I Love You" (2012), "Missing You" (2013) and “Come Back Home” (2014), earning widespread acclaim.
